You ask in plain English.
The federal record comes back.

Four real exchanges, replayed. Your assistant picks the tool, calls the connector and hands you the record: no tab-hopping through SAFER, no copying DOT numbers between windows.

Carrier records above are illustrative. The live connector returns these same fields, in these same shapes, from the federal record.

Setup

Connected in under a minute.
Three steps.

01

Open your client

In Claude, open Settings and go to Connectors. In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode under Connectors. Other MCP clients take a server URL directly.

02

Add the server

Choose "Add custom connector" and paste the Market Tracker connector URL. There is nothing to install and no API key to generate.

03

Connect and ask

Click Connect, then sign in or create a free account in the window that opens. Come back and ask about any DOT number, MC docket or trucking company.

FAQ

Connector questions, answered.

What people ask before they plug it in. Anything else, just reach out.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is the open standard AI assistants use to talk to outside tools. Adding the Market Tracker connector gives your assistant a set of carrier-data tools it can call while answering you, so the numbers come from the federal record instead of from memory.

Do I need a paid account to try it?

No. Connecting creates a free Market Tracker account, and free accounts get 5 lookups a day covering carrier profiles, authority and insurance status, filing history, risk scores and name search. Renewal X-dates, ISS scores, carrier contacts and full search results are on the paid plan.

Why does it ask me to sign up?

The connector reads the same licensed, cleaned and joined carrier index that powers the app, so every call is tied to an account. Signing up takes an email and a password, or one click with Google. No card is needed for the free tier.

Is my data safe?

The connector is read-only: it can look up carrier data and nothing else. It cannot change your account, your billing or your saved views. You approve the connection on our own consent screen and can disconnect it from your assistant at any time.

Is the data the same as the web app?

Yes. Both read the same index built from FMCSA census, licensing and insurance filings, SAFER and BASIC measures, the crash file and roadside inspections. What the app draws as a grid, the connector hands your assistant as structured data.

Does one subscription cover both?

Yes. A Market Tracker seat ($99 per user per month, or $69 billed yearly) unlocks the connector and the full web app for that user. New teams get a 7-day free trial.

Which assistants work with it?

Anything that speaks MCP over HTTP. That includes Claude (web, desktop and Claude Code), ChatGPT with developer mode enabled, Cursor, and the MCP Inspector for testing.

How current is the data?

The carrier index refreshes on a rolling ingest from the federal sources, and authority and insurance lookups pull the live record at the moment your assistant asks.
