The Native Base free insurance inspection history tool pulls the carrier’s downloadable Excel file directly from the FMCSA SAFER portal (ai.fmcsa.dot.gov) at the time of lookup. The data is never stored or modified — every result reflects exactly what FMCSA returns for that USDOT number, including the original .xlsx for download.
A “No carrier found” response means the USDOT number is not present in FMCSA’s SAFER system. The most common causes are: a typo in the USDOT number, a brand-new operating authority that has not been indexed yet, or an authority that has been revoked or deactivated. Double-check the USDOT number against the carrier’s MCS-150 filing.
