DOT leads, read straight
off the federal record.

Every for-hire motor carrier files insurance, authority and safety records with FMCSA. Market Tracker reads each publish, diffs it against yesterday, and hands you the carriers that just went into the market: a cancellation filed against the current policy, coverage lapsed with nothing back on file, a brand-new authority. With the contacts, the fleet, the safety record and the renewal date on the same row.

  • Filed cancellations with the effective date on federal record
  • Lapsed BI/PD filings, new authorities, reinstatements, rejected filings
  • Verified contacts, fleet, cargo, X-date and risk tier on every lead
  • Filter by state, fleet size and 7-to-90-day window; export to CSV

Counts are computed from the live index, not typed in. A cancellation is counted only when the insurer has filed one and the effective date is on federal record; a renewal only when the estimated X-date is reliable and no cancellation is pending against the current paper.

Definition

What a DOT lead actually is.

A DOT lead is a motor carrier, identified by its USDOT number, whose public federal record says it needs insurance soon. The record is public because federal law makes for-hire carriers file proof of liability coverage (the BI/PD filing) with FMCSA, along with their operating authority and their roadside inspection history. Those filings change when something happens to the account: an insurer files a cancellation, a policy lapses, a new authority is granted, an old one is reinstated.

The trade sells these as “DOT leads”, usually as a weekly list with an X-date column. The difference between vendors is not the data, which is the same federal record for everyone. It is how fast they read it, how many of the signals they read, and how much of the carrier they hand you with the signal.

Market Tracker reads five signals on every publish (cancellation filed, filings lapsed, filing rejected, authority reinstated, authority granted), then joins the carrier’s census identity, verified MOTUS contacts, fleet and cargo, safety and crash record, the insurer writing them today and the estimated renewal date. A lead is the whole carrier, not a name and a date.

How it works

The record publishes. We diff it. You work the list.

Nothing here is scraped from SAFER one carrier at a time. The federal datasets publish on their own schedule, we mirror every one of them, and the leads feed is rebuilt from the differences.

Every publish, mirrored01
FMCSA census, Licensing & Insurance (the archive plus its live MOTUS successors), SMS safety measures, the crash file and roadside inspections are mirrored as they publish, for all 4.4 million registered USDOTs.
Change detection02
Each publish is compared with the last. A cancellation filed, coverage lapsed, a filing rejected, an authority reinstated or granted: each becomes a dated event on the carrier, and the carrier appears in Leads with the reason and the date.
Filter, qualify, export03
Narrow by state, fleet size and window (7 to 90 days). Click a row for the peek panel: operation, current insurance, switching history, risk and crash counts, contact. Export the list to CSV, or open the carrier file and generate the prefilled ACORD 125.
Try it on one carrier

Put a USDOT in. See the public record we read.

The free carrier report shows the census, authority, current filing and safety record for any USDOT, no account needed. The leads feed is the same data, watched for change across every carrier at once.

Three ways to get DOT leads

Free, bought, or watched.

All three sit on the same public record. The differences are how many signals get read, how fresh they are, and what comes attached to the USDOT number.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What producers ask before they switch on the feed. Anything else, email hello@nativebase.ai.

Where do DOT leads come from?

From the federal record every for-hire motor carrier must keep current: the FMCSA census (MCS-150), the Licensing & Insurance filings that evidence liability coverage, operating-authority grants and revocations, and the safety and inspection files. Market Tracker mirrors each of those datasets as it publishes and turns the changes into dated lead events on the carrier.

How fresh are the leads?

As fresh as the federal publish. The insurance and authority feeds update daily, the census weekly, the safety measures monthly. The leads feed is rebuilt after every publish, so a cancellation filed yesterday is a lead today with its effective date attached. There is no weekly batch.

Do I get phone numbers and emails?

Yes. Every carrier carries the census address and phone, plus the emails and phone numbers the carrier filed in its MOTUS registration, each marked verified or unverified and primary or secondary. The same contacts flow into the ACORD autofill.

Can I filter by state and fleet size?

Yes. Leads filters by domicile state, fleet size and a 7-to-90-day window, and the Carriers grid adds cargo, radius, hazmat, writing-paper insurer, loss-risk tier, the states a carrier actually runs in and the renewal window. Any filtered list exports to CSV or Excel.

Is this licensed per state like other DOT-leads products?

No. A seat covers every state. Pricing is per user: $99 per user per month, or $69 per user per month on yearly billing, with a free trial and no demo call.

How is this different from buying a list?

A bought list is a snapshot with an X-date column, and you cannot tell which rows went stale after it was cut. Market Tracker is the live index: a lead is dated, carries the reason it surfaced, and disappears when the carrier files new coverage. You can also watch the carriers you already write and get a daily digest when anything changes.
